Oh, brain.
Mar. 17th, 2010 06:50 amJust woke up from quite a dream. It wasn't a nightmare as such as I was never properly terrified until the end, but it was sort of awful and violent.
Basically, there were two of us in St. Louis seeking to take a bus trip home. We went to the Greyhound station where my traveling companion attempted to purchase tickets, except that said companion had never traveled Greyhound before, and therefore didn't know who to buy from, and tried using one of our cards to buy from someone dressed as a driver. I realized the error and the guy tried to make a break for it.
Instead, I caught him. And refused to let him leave. And called 911 (where I had to leave a message). Which is how the dream got started, because the whole rest of it was me having to keep this guy from escaping in spite of the fact that he was properly psychopathic and did not in fact want to be detained.
The most curious part is that we'd subdue him, say trap him in a car or a closet or something, and that would all be very exciting. Except then we'd get distracted or forget about him and try to get on with doing things. During which time he'd obviously slip out and we'd have to do it all over again.
By the end of the dream we were actually home, still waiting for the police to take him away, and we forgot about him in the living room. When we went back in, he'd disabled all the lights. At this point, though, I was mostly aware that I was dreaming, so I turned on the TV to make light and punched him in the face when he charged at me, but still. Kind of scary, that.
Anyway.
