So last week I had a brainwave about tangible things, how digital media has largely replaced them, and how I wondered if maybe there was a place for intentionally creating them.
I got some good responses in the various places this crossposts to, and in e-mail from certain friends. After some thought, I realized that I really do have everything I need to move forward and make this real.
As of today, Hold Something goes live.
You can find the full details of how it works here, but the short version is that every month, I’ll choose a photograph I’ve taken and write a short story inspired by it. That story and photo (along with a note from me, and possibly other goodies) will go out to subscribers on/around the 15th of the month.
What I really want to do with this is a) make cool stuff, b) make people happy, and c) help make my creativity a more sustainable venture that helps me meet material needs (my two priorities right now are fixing my leaky roof and paying for top surgery, neither of which I can do on my own with my day job wages) while building awesome relationships with people.
Anyway, check it out and pass it on.
