So this is how my morning has gone so far:
4:00 AM - Alarm goes off. Hit the snooze until 4:30.
4:30 AM - Orange juice. E-mail.
5:00 AM - Settle in to Write All The Things.
5:15 AM - Blank out entirely. Take microbreak and try again.
5:45 AM - Blank.
6:15 AM - Blank.
6:30 AM - Give up and blog.
It's awful, because I've got a stack of nearly finished things, some of which need to go out over the weekend or early next week. It's something of a vicious cycle of anxiety breaking productivity, creating more anxiety, and there's nothing for it except to put on my big boy pants and keep going.
I guess that settles my weekend plans...
Speaking of weekend plans, if you're in CoMo and like parades, I'll be marching with the local NOW chapter on Sunday in the annual Jaycees thing. I'm hoping there will be glitter.
- Whose Police? If you read nothing else on the Internet today, read this. And follow the links. No matter what you think about the politics of the Occupy movement, this is wrong.
- BoingBoing's really useful page breaking down why SOPA is bad and breaks the Internet. (Which, as others have pointed out, we probably like because we're using it right now.)
- Farming Like the Incas - This article basically hit all of my awesome buttons at once. It doesn't surprise me at all that a specialized local approach works better in Peru than imposing agricultural methods designed for Western Europe. It makes me want to do more research on native agriculture here in the Midwest. Perhaps a field trip to Cahokia is in order?
- Cat Rambo writes about flash fiction, a form that is near and dear to my heart (and not least because my first fiction sale was to Thaumatrope).
- PONY CREATOR. Pony creator. PONY CREATOR! (Shut up.)
