1. So I do the whole Whomageddon thing. At the end of the series, on finale day, I make food, invite people over, and mainline the lot. This is awesome, and I already cannot wait. However, I am already anticipating CRACKWATCH. Is it me, or are these getting less and less subtle?

2. I am utterly intrigued by Amy not remembering "Journey's End." Are we in a pocket universe? Is there some sort of paradox effect? Is this some giant Dalek plot to undo the Doctor's work? Is the Doctor in some kind of fugue state? Trapped in the TARDIS? In the wrong universe? Hm.

3. New Daleks. That's weird.

3a. So you know what? We've had different colored Daleks before, both in new and classic Who. Memo to fandom: I am so over the "lolz gay Daleks!" thing already. Move on, k?

3b. Is it me, or is the New Dalek ParadigmTM less agile than its impure predecessor? The angry yellow eye is nice, though. Dead creepy.

3c. Also, the Dalek ship and the general behavior of the Daleks in this one remind me so much of the first time we see them with Hartnell it hurts me. Daleks with tea! And their ship! I feel like there were a lot of classic visual cues here.

4. The Doctor reacting to the Daleks and going after them with a wrench! Saying they should be exterminated! Bringing the wig-out!

4a. Did anyone else expect these to be alternate universe Daleks who weren't actually malevolent and for the Doctor to turn them into monsters with his own insistent hatred? Anybody?

5. Every time you bite into a Jammy Dodger, a Type 40 TARDIS self-destructs. WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE TARDISES?!

5a. But seriously. The food list for Whomageddon this year now officially includes Jammy Dodgers if I can get them.

6. Churchill's a gropey pick-pocket, and he's all goofy with Eleven. I found this all unexpected and kind of charming. It's an interesting balance with the usual view of Churchill, which we also see a little in his lack of sentimentality when one of the pilots lost over the channel turns out to be one of the war room commswomen's partners.

6a. The line about Hitler and Hell kicked my ass.

7. Also, I love that the Brits win the space race during WWII because of the Daleks. SPITFIIIRES! IIIIIN! SPAAAAAAACE!

8. Am I crazy, or did RTD mention something like this in A Writer's Tale? I'm not, am I? And it's Gatiss who had the script in hand back then as well if I recall correctly. Though didn't it have something to do with a museum? Am I making this all up?

9. Eleven looking out at the balloons and saying "History." Christ, if you can't see Rose and Jack and simpler times in his eyes there.

10. It's so interesting watching Matt Smith play the Doctor, because I'm seeing so many past Doctors in him. Lots of Five and One in him tonight, and angry!Nine, I think. Though, you know, that's me imposing that on him more than it necessarily being intentional on his part.

10a. He really is nailing that sort of mad, inaccessible, alien thing for me. Even when he's telegraphing his moods (when he realizes he's saved the Earth but the Daleks have won), there's something surreal in his expressions. Moffat made a really excellent choice with him, I think.
