I could hold forth about useful things, but instead I’m going to post a gratuitous photo of the baby rats I brought home on Sunday.

They’re in quarantine on my dresser until the 26th (longer if one of them needs to be treated for illness), after which they’ll be joining Altaïr and Ezio in a new, bigger enclosure. I’ve been thinking of the one on the left as “Big Island” (after the spot on his back) and “Poop Factory,” and the one on the right as “Little Island” and “Shy Boy,” but proper names are still a work in progress.
