Look, I don't want to become the sort of man who does nothing but discuss the weather, but this three day period deserves its moment.

Yesterday topped out at around 85*F, with an overnight low of 55*F-ish. Which is where it will stay all day today. Tonight? 32*F.

There s a saying about the weather in my state, being that if you don't like it, wait around a few minutes and it'll change, but this may be overdoing it a little.

In other scintillating news, I'm almost a week into the worst allergy attack I've had in ages. I'm fatigued. Everything hurts. My lungs burn, my tonsils are swollen, I'm congested, and I'm this close to buying one of these. This overall body misery has done the writing absolutely no good at all whatsoever.

Ugh.

On the up-side, I made borscht this weekend using this recipe. It's a visceral-looking meal. It's the most nutritious stage gore on the planet. Prep made my work area look like a crime scene, and at one point I held up a freshly peeled beet and felt like I'd completed a nasty finishing move in Mortal Kombat. I'm taking left-overs out with me for lunch. At least this will provide me some amusement in between moments of feeling like someone has scrubbed my throat out with a wire brush.

And yes, all the appalling stories about beets and other bodily functions are absolutely true.

Here. Have a wee corgi. It is the least I can offer you this morning.
