They never really warn you about that in school. Anyway! Here's the promised final count on the "what should Christian read" thing from yesterday:

I started on Swordspoint last night. I'm a couple of chapters in and already really enjoying the tone of it. I didn't mention yesterday that my to-read stack already includes a copy of The Fall of Kings in it, but it does. Whether that's on deck immediately will depend on how desperate I am to continue when I finish Swordspoint.

Thanks to everyone who shared opinions. It was neat seeing what people thought, and why. We must do this again sometime.

I quite enjoyed The Fall of the Kings--there's a sort of intuitive Pagan reconstructionism going on in it that I found kinda neat. Do also get The Privilege of the Sword, either your own copy or borrow it from the library or a friend. I think it makes for a better follow-up to Swordspoint than TFotK, considering the overall timeline of the series, but both are enjoyable reads.
