bodlon: (cumberbatch - with book)

I should start by saying that there isn't a joint in my body that's not at least a little bit stiff or sore. The real fun, though, is at and below the knees. My current hypothesis is that there's something about being up and about on a concrete floor all night for four nights in a row that the human skeleton disapproves of.

Memo to skeleton: suck it up, because working at a haunted house is awesome, and we've got four more weekends to go.

(Incidentally, if you're local and want to check out the haunt, drop me a line. I have coupons!)

I'm still -- still! -- feeling disoriented by the schedule change. By bedtime (which is around 1-2 AM on haunt nights), I'm still instinctively thinking about writing time the next morning, even though that's not possible. There are two days a week (Thursday and Friday) that writing simply isn't an option because there's literally no time for it.

This has been good and bad, and has me wondering a little if it might be beneficial after I finish this month's Hold Something if I just declare October a "vacation" month during which whatever writing that happens is icing. We'll see about that next week, I suppose.

Otherwise, things are mostly running according to plan. I should have a fundraising update this week, I've been elected to an officer position with the local writers' guild, I've had to shift some deadlines because a project has decided it has a mind of its own, and I'm looking toward November/December with a certain sort of awe at this point because they're the last months of 2011 and my plan for 2012 is pretty radically different from this year's.

(Considering that Calan Gaeaf/Samhain is coming up, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone at all that I'm thinking about endings.)

Getting there with both of my knees might be an adventure, but...
